A Note on Fees

July 27, 2009

This year we are asking for $25 with your registration as a indicator that you are truly planning on attending and celebrating with us at Iowa Sukkot at Newton.  This is because our capacity is limited to 150 full-week campers.

This is the only fee we have for the event itself, with the exception of lodging.  We have had some confusion: for clarification, the $25.00 fee for registration does not apply to lodging expenses. Your lodging expenses are separate and 100% of lodging fees goes to the Christian Conference Center.

Please consider beyond this what you are able to do to contribute to the cost of speakers and meals.  It is completely up to each individual.  You may contact us and/or simply send a check or bring your contributions to the camp itself.  We want to make this a memorable time, and for everyone who is able to pitch in by volunteering their time and/or resources as they are able.  We humbly thank all of you out there who have attended in the past and have enabled this effort to continue again.

Please scroll down and check the pages at the top and side for more information and updates.

Shalom

Schedule Update 4/28

April 28, 2009

The schedule for the week of Sukkot is not final, however it is getting there.  Due to dining limitations and functionality we are limited to 150 full-time campers, please register early to secure your place.

Schedule Summary

Speakers. Brad Scott will be teaching at various times during the whole week!  Daniel Botkin will be with us the first Sunday and Monday.  Rico Cortez will be with us on Monday.  Toby Janicki is scheduled on Wednesday night.  Richard and David Reeves will be with us just the first weekend.

Music. Tziyon’s Call is providing praise music during many nights of the feast.

Youth. The structured youth activities are typically in the mid-mornings, with more free time and teachings in the afternoon.

Shabbat. The first Erev Shabbat will not be formal as many will just have arrived.  There will be a gathering for kiddush and blessings on Friday, October 2, as well as policy review for those who are there that night.  A more formal Erev Shabbat will be held on the eve of the 8th day, October 9, which happens to also be the weekly Shabbat.

“Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths to the LORD. (Lev 23:34 ESV)

“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the LORD seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. You shall celebrate it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.  (Lev 23:39-41 ESV)
